LFA
unusual general assembly to be held today October
21, 2001
LFA committee will hold
today (Sunday) at Marriott hotel, Beirut an unusual general
assembly to modify some items of the LFA internal rules &
regulations.
Among the items to be discussed during the meeting are:
1. Granting a general pardon to all suspended players, &
clubs' officials.
2. Canceling all the results of the 41st. First Division League
championship.
3. Increasing the number of First division clubs from 12 to 14
for one season only, and decreasing the number of Second
divisions clubs to 12.
This unusual general assembly aims to cease the effects of the
previous decisions taken by the former LFA committee on
23-04-2001 & 22-06-2001 that denied Tadamoun Sour of the
championship title, relegated 7 clubs to the Second division,
and banned for lifetime 22 players, & clubs' officials for
the infamous match-fixing conspiracy on Sunday 15-04-2001.
