Viceroy
Cup 2001
Safa defeated Salam Zgharta [4-0] October
29, 2001
Safa reserved the last place in the final
rounds of Viceroy Cup 2001 after defeating Salam Zgharta [4-0]
in the match that took place on Monday October 29, 2001 at 6:00
p.m., Beirut Sports City stadium.
The best match in Viceroy Cup so far. Both teams used all their
forces to score goals. Safa went successful with its attempts
and scored 4 times by A. Mohammad (40' free kick), the new
forward - old defender Ahmad Naamani (46', & 81'), & A.
Hommsi (60'). As for Salam, the score sheet doesn't reflect the
situation of the team who played a good match, and was denied by
the post 3 goals by S. Sissy, M. Nassif, & B. Karam, at the
same time it became apparent the low coherence between the goal
keeper and its defense line, this problem should be handled as
soon as possible before the start of the season.
Safa advanced to the second group of Viceroy Cup 2001 where it
will face Al-Ansar, & Ikhaa Ahley Aley. Safa's first match
is against the archrival Al-Ansar on next Sunday November 4,
2001 5:300 p.m., at Beirut Sports City Stadium.
