Viceroy Cup 2001
Tadamoun Sour defeated Al-Ansar [3-0] November 10, 2001

Tadamoun Sour qualified to the final match of the Viceroy Cup for the Elite - 2001 after defeating Al-Ansar [3-0] in the match that took place on Saturday November 10, 2001 8:30 p.m., at Beirut Sports Stadium.

The match witnessed an unbalanced combat between 2 opponents. On one side, Tadamoun Sour entered the match with high confidence, backed with its full Lebanese squad full of experience and youth. The defense line led by Korken Inkebarian who is guarding his net successfully in this tournament [0 goals] so far, and the energetic Imad El-Miri who scored a goal on the 53rd. goal. Faisal Antar did well, and so did Nasrat El-Jamal, Ibrahim Manasri, and Haitham Zein who is proving to be the best Lebanese Forward player on the scene through scoring twice on the 21st. & 59th. minutes for his team from the slightest opportunities, and showing a high effectiveness level necessary for teams like Tadamoun bidding for titles.

On the other side, Al-Ansar didn't seem that bad. In fact they started a good match in the first 20 minutes, exchanged the game with Tadamoun, and created some attempts on their target, but the First goal by Haitham Zein turned down the equation, and uncovered the bad situation Al-Ansar team is currently facing. All the weak points we already identified appeared to the surface, absence of coherence in the defense line, absence of leader in the midfield, and absence of Forward player who is at least able to reduce the pressure on Peter Prospar if was not able to make opportunities himself. The current Forward alternatives represented by Mohammad Jawad, and the young Haitham Hallak are not doing well facing the longer expertise of their opponents. Anyway, the time is not yet over for Al-Ansar management to search for the key solutions to fill the gaps in its squad, and with the come back of injured attacker Fadi Ghosn Al-Ansar would prepare a formation that is able to bid for the championship title in the coming season.
