Saida Municipality stadium to
host matches of the Lebanese Football Championship
November 21, 2001
Saida Municipality stadium will be
ready to host matches of the 41st. Lebanese Football
Championship, according to LFA president Hashem Haidar who
stated that LFA committee members has requested from Prime
Minister Rafeek Hariri during their meeting days ago to help in
this issue. Haidar added that H.E. prime minister has called by
phone the responsible managers at Council of Development &
Reconstruction to solve all difficulties that hinder the use of
the stadium in the championship.
Meanwhile, Haidar focused on the reason behind delaying the
championship till the end of Ramadan month, and said that this
decision came upon the request of most of the First division
clubs that didn't finish its preparations yet, and on the other
side some clubs realized that playing in Ramadan might exhaust
its players. Furthermore, Haidar clarified that this delay will
render the new championship more intensive, and the LFA
committee is ready to launch the championship matches after
setting the First round fixtures, and preparing the stadiums
that will host the matches except for Saida stadium. |
