LFA Decisions
LFA committee held its weekly meeting and made the following decisions
December 8, 2001

1. Inviting the French Coach Michael Hildago to visit Lebanon for the purpose of gaining from his technical & managerial experience.

2. LFA committee studied the financial debts on Homenmen & Ikhaa Ahley Aley clubs, and decided to allow multi installments.

3. Nominating Mr. Raymond Semaan for the board of Western-Asian Federation and as a head of the competitions committee.

4. Rejecting Al-Ansar club request to play a friendly match with Salam Zgharta for having debts outstanding for LFA.

5. Allowing 2nd. division clubs to sign 2 foreign players on their list, on the basis of 1 player located on the field with the possibility of being substituted with the other foreign player.

6. Asking all the clubs to submit to the general secretary the colors adapted for their jerseys in the season, with 2 colors minimum per club.

7. Inviting all the former players of the national teams who want to attend the official matches organized by LFA to submit 2 photos and 1 copy of the identity card to receive special attendance cards for the matches.

8. Setting the fixtures for the first round of the 2nd. division championship for the 2001/2002 season.


 
LFA committee held its weekly meeting and made the following decisions October 31, 2001

1. Confirming the matches results of the preliminary round of Viceroy Cup for the Elites 2001: Shabab Sahel defeated Homenmen [4-1], Nejmeh defeated Homentmen [2-0], Ikhaa Ahley Aley defeated Ahley Saida [2-1], & Safa defeated Salam Zgharta [4-0].

2. Suspending Homentmen player Krikor Alozian for the first 2 matches his team play starting October 28, 2001 for his roughness.

3. Confirming the 2 final groups of Viceroy Cup for the Elites 2001 as such:
First Group: Tadamoun Sour, Nejmeh, Shabab Sahel.
Second Group: Al-Ansar, Ikhaa Ahley Aley, Safa.

Announcing the final schedule of the tournament as such:

First Round:
03-11-01
: Tadamoun Sour x Shabab Sahel, 5:45 p.m., Beirut Sports City.
04-11-01: Al-Ansar x Safa, 5:45 p.m., Beirut Sports City.
05-11-01: Nejmeh x Shabab Sahel, 5:45 p.m., Beirut Sports City.
06-11-01: Ikhaa Ahley Aley x Safa, 5:45 p.m., Beirut Sports City.
07-11-01: Tadamoun Sour x Nejmeh, 5:45 p.m., Beirut Sports City.
08-11-01: Al-Ansar x Ikhaa Ahley Aley, 5:45 p.m., Beirut Sports City.
Semi Finals:
10-11-01: First of group (1) x Second of group (2), 8:30 p.m., Beirut Sports City.
11-11-01: First of group (2) x Second of group (1), 8:30 p.m., Beirut Sports City.
3rd. place:
13-11-01: Losing teams of semi finals, 8:30 p.m., Beirut Sports City.
Final Match:
14-11-01: Winning teams of semi finals, 8:30 p.m., Beirut Sports City.


LFA general assembly approved most of the committee's propositions October 21, 2001

LFA general assembly took place on October 21, 2001 at Marriott Hotel, Beirut with the attendance of 108 clubs out of 146.

The assembly started with the Lebanese national anthem, and a speech for LFA president Hashem Haidar, then the general secretary Baheej Abou Hamzeh read the LFA regulations items related to the assembly.

Just before the beginning of the voting process, the representative of Al-Liwaa Tripoli Club Hassan Khayyal objected on the legitimacy of this assembly due to the lack of submitting the propositions to the clubs at least 15 days before the assembly date, and suggested canceling this assembly, or only voting on the general pardon. After short discussions with the representative of the Sports & Youth ministry, Al-Liwaa representative withdrew from the assembly.

The voting process started with the LFA committee announcing its propositions, and the assembly voting on each item separately. All of the proposed items were approved except for the item related to relegation of 3 teams to the second division, and the promotion of 1 team to the first division at the end of the 2001/2002 season. This item, which was supported by all the first division teams except for Al-Ansar, was rejected by a 55 votes against it. In return, LFA committee announced a new proposal to relegate 4 teams to the second division, and promote 2 teams at the end of the 2001/2002 season. This new item was approved by 75 votes majority.

The new approved modifications are as follow:

1. Accepting the applications of all players over the year up to 10 days period before the start of the championship or the cup, separate procedure for other competitions will be determined by the LFA committee.
Meanwhile, it will be allowed to accept the applications up to 72 hrs. deadline before the start of the championship, or the cup in by paying a specific fee to be determined by The committee.

2. On an exclusive basis for the 2001/2002 season, and based on the result of the First division championship, the 4 last clubs of the final standings of the championship relegate to the second division. This item will be cancelled automatically after the end of the 2001/2002 season.

3. On an exclusive basis for the 2001/2002 season, and based on the result of the Second division championship, The First 2 clubs of get promoted automatically to the First division, and the last 2 clubs relegate automatically to the Third division.

4. On an exclusive basis for the 2001/2002 season, the number of Football associations will be determined as follows:
- First Division associations: 14
- Second Division associations: 12
- Third Division associations: 16
- Fourth Division associations: undefined
This item will be cancelled automatically after the end of the 2001/2002 season.

5. For the purpose of establishing a new period in the Lebanese Football, setting a general pardon on all players, & club officials.
LFA committee aims to assures its willingness to implement the applied rules & regulations, and request all clubs and associations members of LFA to abide by these regulations.


LFA specifies 3 foreign players for each first division club, and launches the Viceroy Cup October 17, 2001

LFA committee held its weekly meeting, and made the following decisions:

1. Specifying the number of foreign players approved for each club of the first division clubs for the 2001/2002 as 3 players, it is allowed to participate with the 3 players at once during the match. This decision will be made effective simultaneously with the upcoming technical regulations for the First division championship for the coming season 2001/2002 which will be announced in due time.

2. Specifying the date of November 11, 2001 for the election of the regional committees, the details will be specified later.

3. Electing the presidents of the derivative committees as follows:
A. Competitions committee: Fouad Jaroudi.
B. Referees committee: Moussa Makki.
C. National teams committee: Adel Bissar.
D. Stadiums committee: Haitham Shaaban.
The members of these committees will be assigned in the coming LFA committee.

4. Launching the Viceroy Cup between November 3 & 14, 2001, according to a specific regulation that will be announced during the lot party on October 26, 2001.



Second meeting.. Launch of the season September 25, 2001

LFA committee decided in its weekly meeting to thank the Election's supervising committee.
1. Thanking all the participating clubs in the general assembly election for providing democratic & sportsmanship atmosphere on the election, and for their great faith in the members of the LFA committee.
2. Naming the LFA committee delegation to the Asian Football Confederation meetings taking place in Kuala Lumpur (Oct. 8 -11) of Mr. Hashem Haidar, & Mr. Baheej Abou Hamzeh.
3. Setting the date for receiving the congratulations on the LFA committee election on Tuesday 02/10/2001 between 6:00 p.m. & 8:00 p.m. at Phoenicia hotel, Beirut.
4. Asking Mr. Hashem Haidar to arrange appointments with the country Leaders to visit the LFA committee.
5. Writing to The Kuwaiti Football Federation to welcome the visit of his vice president Mr. Ahmad Youssef Al-Souud Al-Sabah to Lebanon on 02/10/2001 to meet the LFA committee.
6. Extending the period of accepting the players' applications and sheets from all the clubs till 20/10/2001.
7. Opening the LFA headquarters' doors for queries all the week days during the work hours.
8. Naming the members of LFA "Laws Reformation" committee of Messers Hashem Haidar, Baheej Abou Hamzeh, Mustafa Hamdan, Gerard Habibian from the LFA; Meanwhile, this committee shall seek the help of adequate lawyers, & clubs to provide a project of "New LFA Rules & Regulations" in the nearest time possible.
9. Setting the new date for LFA general assembly meeting on Sunday 21/10/2001, the schedule and the location are to be determined later.
10. Launching the official activities of the Lebanese Football Association for the 2001/2002 season on the third week of November 2001, and setting the schedule for these activities.


First Meeting.. Assignment of Duties September 23, 2001

LFA committee held its first meeting on Sunday evening September 23, 2001 in president Haidar's home, the meeting was directed by Mr. Kabalan Yammine, the oldest member. The duties were assigned as follows:

Hashem Haidar (President)
Kabalan Yammine (Vice president)
Fouad Jaroudi (Vice president)
Baheej Abou Hamzeh (General secretary)
Moussa Makki (Treasurer)
Haitham Shaaban (Accountant)
George Solage (Public relations director)
Mustafa Hamdan, Raymond Semaan, Gerard Habibian, & Adel Bissar (consulting members).
