Lebanon loses 1-0
to Indonesia
The crucial first leg match in the
2nd round of the Asian qualifications for
Athens 2004 between Indonesia and Lebanon finished with a 1-0
advantage for
Indonesia by a goal scored in the 54th minute. However the
Lebanese team
played a spectacular match especially in the 2nd half and missed
a lot of
scoring chances specially by Paul Restom who was substituted by
Roni Azar,
but Mr Tardi was greatly satisfied with the Lebanese
performance. The match
was played in great conditions with a large crowd who supported
the
Indonesian team.
On the other hand, the Indonesians played a rough and intended
to hurt the
Lebanese players to the extent that Ahmad Al Shoum was injured.
The Korean referee was totally unjust especially when he denied
Lebanon 2
penalty kicks and he was not taking firm decisions against the
Indonesians
and their tough plays. Note that the Lebanese Olympic team will
return home
on Sunday's (04-05-2003) night.
And Lebanon needs to win in the second leg in Beirut by a 2
goals difference
to advance to the next round.
