The Qualifications of the Arab
Club’s Championship Al Faisaly beat Al Jaish (2-0) and qualifies
Al Aqsa drew with Nejmeh (3-3) in the final seconds of the
match.
Al Faisaly (Jordan) qualified to the final round
of the Arab Club’s Championship after its win over Al Jaish
(Syria) 2-0 in the match, which was held yesterday; 23-05-2003
in Amman, thus the team conquered the first position in the
standing of the fourth group.
The Second place is still undetermined where Al
Jaish, Nejmeh and Al Aqsa are competing to win the second
qualifying position. Therefore, Al Jaish will play against Al
Aqsa and Nejmeh against Al Faisaly tomorrow, 25-05-2003 to
determine who will qualify along with Al Faisaly.
Note that Nejmeh drew with Al Aqsa 3-3 in the
match, which was held before the match of Al Faisaly and Al
Jaish.
Nejmeh took a 2-0 lead at the first half by two
goals for Mohammad Halawi at (10’) and (38’) but Al Aqsa
succeeded to score two goals in the second half by Jamal Al
Houli (54’ P) and Ahmed Abu Daher (83’).
Then Al Aqsa scored a third goal at (88’) but it
was an own goal by Abd El Salam Al Souberki and that goal gave
the 3-2 lead for Nejmeh. But at the dying seconds, Rafat Rabi’e
managed to level the score to finish the match with a 3-3 draw.
