Salam Zgharta get a valuable point from Aleppo’s Hurriya

Salam Zgharta drew with Aleppo’s Hurriya with one goal each at the beginning of the team’s matches in the Journalists’ football tournament on the 7th of April stadium in Aleppo. Salam need one point against Jazirah from Jordan in today’s match to reach the semi final to accompany Hurriya to this round.

As for the match, the Syrian team took the lead through Omar Diyar Bakerly in the early minutes, which surprised the Lebanese team. However, Salam didn’t surrender and they outclassed the Syrian team in front of its huge supporters where Mohammed Obeid nearly score but his ball hit the post to end the first half with a 1-0 lead for Hurriya.

At the second half, the Lebanese team tried to take the lead. The turning point was when Hurriya’s player Yamen Aboud was sent off after he fainted that he suffered a foul in the penalty area, but the referee sent him off after getting his second yellow card.

Salam managed to equalize at the remaining time, through Francois Kharma and the team nearly got the winner but the Syrian goalkeeper managed to save his team from several goals especially when he saved the ball of Salam’s star Rami Hassan.

Thus, both teams got one point and Hurriya qualified while Salam will face Jazirah from Jordan later today. Note that Salam’s striker Rami Hassan was chosen as the MVP of the match.
