An Interview with Roda Antar

The following interview was made with Roda Antar, the Lebanese professional player who played for the German team Hamburg SV. Unfortunately Roda now is recovering from an ankle injury. He undergone a surgery last week. Pray for Roda to return as soon as possible.

1- Your Father's and Mother's Name?
Abdul-Hassan and Nazha 

2- Do you have any siblings?
yes, 2 (a sister called Sukaina and a brother called Faisal).

3- Your previous club?
Tadamoun Club. 

4- Who was your first coach?
Theo Poker.

5- Have you ever been selected to play for the national team?
Yes, I was selected to play for U17, U21, Olympic and National Teams of Lebanon.

 6- How many matches did you play in the Bundesliga?
18
matches.
 

7- And how many goals did you score?
1
goal.
 

8- Your Achievements?
I won the league and the cup in Lebanon. 

9- At what age did you start playing football?
When I was 15 years old. 

10- What do you think of the UEFA Champions League?
I'm looking forward to play in it. 

11- What languages do you speak?
English, Arabic, African and German. 

12- What Music do you like to listen to?
Black Music 

13- Who is your favourite Singer?
P Diddy 

14- Who is your best actor?
Marinus Bester 

15- Which player do you like to see playing?

16- What was your worst injury?
Fortunately no injuries till now. 

17- What was your worst defeat?
When we lost 0:6 against Hertha Berlin. 

18- What will you do when you will finish your career as a footballer?
I would like to coach in my country, Lebanon. 

19- What do you do in your free time, have you any time for your beloved?
I go for shopping and I listen to music. 

20- What would you like to be if you weren't a professional footballer?
I would have studied Business Administration. 

21- Do you do anything beside football, and if not, why?
No, because I don't have enough time. 

22- When you where young standing on the playing field, you had strengths and weaknesses . A fan as you are did you have aspirations of playing abroad? and for which club?
There was a team in my childhood or youth which I loved and it was Manchester United.

23- Did you have any role model when growing up?
Sports wise I had two, Pele and Maradona.

24- What is you favourite novel or book?
Not interested in such things.

25- I heard you like nature (and sportsmanship)?
When we flew to Mallorca with the team I experienced that feeling.

26- Is there a dream wife?
Still searching.

27- Your Motto in life?
Stay optimistic.

28- As an HSV professional player, one can expect something from you. You give a lot of everything for your club?
To perform my best to club I need laughter, self-assurance.

29- What makes you sad?
Death.

30- If you could something with yourself what would it be?
I'm actually quite content with myself.

31- Your first car?
A Mercedes SLK (my mothers).

32- What are you driving now?
I'm driving a Mercedes C Klasse.

33- Your first Bundesliga debut?

My first Bundesliga performance was against 1860 Munich.

What do you like about Hamburg?
Everything is great here...

35- If you could make three wishes what would they be?
Hardly conceivable, but I am desirelessely happy.
