Nejmeh to meet Olympic
Beirut in the final of Lebanon's Cup
Nejmeh
qualified to the final of Lebanon's Cup after their [0-0] draw with
Homentmen in the match which was held on Beirut Municipality
Stadium. Thus Nejmeh qualified after [2-0] lead in aggregate to meet
Olympic Beirut in the final on July 5, 2003

Olympic Beirut to the
final of Lebanon's Cup
Olympic Beirut qualified to the
final of Lebanon's cup after their [1-1] draw with Salam
Zgharta in the match which was held on Beirut Municipality
Stadium. The goals were scored by Silvio 6' for Olympic and
Francois Kharma 40' for Salam. Thus Olympic Beirut qualified
after [3-2] lead in aggregate to meet the winner of today's
[26-06-2003] match between Homentmen and Nejmeh in the final
on July, 5, 2003.

Chaaban to play for Farnborough
The
Lebanese English-born player Ali Chaaban moved to Farnborough
Town of the Conference Division in England where the signing of the
21-year-old player will be a great boost for Lebanese football.
If Ali will turn into a professional player, then he will follow the
footsteps of Roda Antar; the first Lebanese professional player who
signed for the Bundesliga side Hamburg SV last year.

- Semifinals - First Leg Results
-Olympic Beirut defeated Salam Zgharta
2-1, the goals were scored by Mohsen Naseef 3' for Salam, and Silvio
11', Nabeel Baalbaki 15' for Olympic Beirut.
-Nejmeh defeated Homentmen 2-0, the goals were scored by Abass Atoui
and Khaled Hamieh.

heading for the title
Olympic Beirut
are now one step closer to win the title of the Master
Championship after their win against Ansar with a single goal
while the direct competent for Olympic; Nejmeh suffered an
unexpected defeat against Ahed (3-4). Olympic needs one point
from the remaining two matches against Ahed and Nejmeh to be
officially crowned as champions, while Nejmeh needs a miracle to
keep title in their headquarters.

: National Teams News
Some
Players of the National Olympic Team have received offers to play
outside Lebanon after their great performance against Indonesia,
note that Safa's player Khodor Salameh has recieved invitation from
the French club Bastia to make a try out with the team. The first
National Team will begin its preparation for the Qualification of
Asian 2004 Cup starting from August the first, The team will be
strengthened by the professional player Hasan Berjaoui who
plays for the Swedish club Stockholm as an attacking midfielder,
note that some players of the Lebanese Olympic Team will join the
first National team in this preparations.

Hofnanian, Lahoud and Khiami
congratulates the LFA with the achievement of the Lebanese Olympic
Team
The
Lebanese Youth and sport Minister; Dr. Siboh Hofnanian, the
President of the Parliamentary Youth and Sport committee MP Mr.
Emile Lahoud and the General Manager of Youth and Sports Mr. Zeid
Khiyami, sent telegrams for the LFA. These telegrams were sent to
congratulate the LFA for the Lebanese Olympic Team’s qualification
to the final round of the Asian qualifications to Athens 2004. They
also praised the big fans who attended the match and who were
patriotic in addition to the efforts of the LFA, the players and the
technical staff. Note that Mr. Hofnanian visited yesterday;
09-06-2003 the LFA quarters and congratulated the LFA again.

Nejmeh to Semi Finals
of Lebanon Cup
Nejmeh qualified to the Semi Final of
Lebanon cup of their 3-3 draw with Tadamoun Sour in the match which
was hold on Sour Municipality Stadium the goals Scored by M. Majid
32', A. Atoui 81', S. Aboushi 86' for Nejmeh and K. Ghadar 10', B.
Bourji 21', Hamlet 53' for Tadamoun Sour.
Thus Nejmeh qualifies after their 6-5 lead in aggregation to meet
Homentmen in the Semi Final

Lebanon qualifies to the final round
for the first time ever
The
Lebanese Olympic Team qualified to the final round of the Asian
Qualifications for the Athens 2004 Olympic games after its massive
victory against Indonesia 5-1 in the Full-House match which was held
on Beirut Municipality Stadium where the crowds were more than 20
thousand spectators.

Zico to visit Lebanon! |
|
There
are rumors spreading that Japan’s National manager Zico will visit
Lebanon to attend the match between Lebanon and Indonesia which will
be held today; 7th of June at Beirut Municipality Stadium
in the second leg of the second round of the Asian qualifications
for Athens 2004.
Note that the Brazilian ex-player was appointed as Japan’s coach
instead of Philipe Troussier after Japan’s elimination from the
second round of the FIFA 2002 World Cup Korea/Japan.

The matches of the Golden and Relegation squares
Olympic vs. Ansar and Nejmeh vs. Ahed in the opening matches
The LFA
declared the schedule of the matches of the Golden and Relegation
squares. In the first round of the Golden Square, Olympic plays
against Ansar and Nejmeh with Ahed on Saturday June 14. In the
Relegation Square, Salam faces Bourj and Mabarrah faces Ikhaa on

A
camp for Nejmeh as a preparation for the Golden Square
Nejmeh’s players
entered a preparation camp on 02-06-2003 in one of the Capital’s
hotels under the supervision of their coach Abd El Aziz Abd El
Shafi. The players will continue training at Manara training ground
as a preparation for the Golden Square of the 43rd League
Championship.

evaluated the phases that he spent at the club:
Wehbi resigns officially from Tadamon’s presidency
Tadamon’s
president Mr. Sherif Wehbi presented his resignation officially from
the managing committee of the club through a letter that contained
an evaluation of the phases that he spent at the club as a vice
president and then a president for the committee. He also presented
the problems, which stood in the face of performing the management’s
work and were obstacles to build Tadamon’s institute.
